Guest numbers
Remember that venues will often have a maximum and indeed minimum requirement for guests. For example, if you’re planning to have over 200 guests, you may find that there is a restriction in the numbers of venues that can cater to your choices. Plan your guest list early to avoid disappointment and wasted time viewing venues that won’t suit your needs.
Your budget
We can’t stress this enough; decide what your budget is, and stick to it. It’s very easy for small expenses to mount up. A small contingency fund to cover items that you may not have considered is an excellent idea. If it’s not used? Great! Free Money! You can put this towards a honeymoon or even a mini-moon.
Additional Extras
Try to visit a venue on a day both where it’s dressed for a Wedding and on a day when it’s not. Compare the differences if any between the two. Are items such as centrepieces include as part of your package or are they extra? Make sure that you’re clear on what’s included in your package and what’s not.
Guest experience
If your venue is a little further afield be conscious that guests may need to book an overnight stay. Firstly, It’s helpful to know if your venue offers alternate accommodation within their grounds such as houses. Or can they recommend B&B’s which are close by? Maybe arranging a private coach to and from your venue would be helpful. Consideration for your guests is always appreciated.
