On Sunday, 28 September 2025, Event Central had the privilege of bringing flair and entertainment to an exciting NFL-themed lunch at Clontarf Castle, Dublin — celebrating the clash between the Vikings vs. Steelers at Croke Park. With 225 guests in attendance, our mission was to create an immersive, bold, and fun environment — and we’re proud to say the result was a winner.
Setting the Scene: Colours, Theme & Atmosphere
Because the event was centered around the Vikings / Steelers matchup, the palette and styling called for strong, vibrant team colours. Vikings’ signature purple and gold became the backbone of our décor concept — bold, regal, and unmistakably team-spirit.
We designed and installed balloon centrepieces for all 225 tables. Each one featured a layered combination of deep purple and metallic gold balloons, carefully balanced for visual impact without crowding the table. To add height and presence, we included slender balloon “fins” and accent balloons in complementary shades, giving each centrepiece a dynamic yet elegant silhouette.
These centrepieces not only served as eye-catchers but also as conversational anchors — guests could instantly feel the themed energy and camaraderie around every table.
The Luxe Booth: Entertainment Elevated
Beyond décor, we wanted to ensure the lunch itself remained lively, interactive, and memorable. To achieve this, Event Central operated a Luxe Booth throughout the duration of the lunch. Positioned centrally for maximum visibility, the Luxe Booth offered:
- A glamorous photo experience with LED ring lighting
- Instant printouts or digital shares, allowing guests to take home a stylish memento
- Friendly on-site hosts guiding guests through poses, props, and sharing
- A curated selection of props tied into the NFL / Vikings theme (helmets, team scarves, mini signage)
The Luxe Booth became a hub of energy — drawing guests in between courses, creating laughter and stories, and giving people a keepsake of the day. It also enhanced social media buzz, as many guests posted snippets of their Luxe Booth moments instantly.
Challenges & Highlights
With a guest list of 225, scale and logistics were key concerns:
- Coordination & Timing: Transporting, inflating, and positioning that many balloon centrepieces required careful scheduling. We staged set-ups early and deployed teams methodically to avoid disruption.
- Venue Considerations: Clontarf Castle’s elegant interiors demand balance — décor must enhance, not overpower. We calibrated balloon heights to stay below ceiling features and avoid obstructing sightlines.
- Photo Flow: The Luxe Booth location had to be convenient but not intrusive. We worked with the client and venue to position it where it would attract foot traffic without blocking movement between tables.
- Consistency & Quality: With a large number of centrepieces, consistency in balloon inflation, colour matching, and finish was essential. Our quality control team inspected each piece before final placement.
One of the standout moments was seeing guests’ reactions as they entered the hall — many paused at first glance, visibly impressed by the cohesive colour scheme and the bold yet elegant centrepieces. Later, during the Luxe Booth sessions, laughter and friendly competition between groups built a fun, communal spirit.
